Additional Information

The LaMarr Civic Center is named in honor of two siblings: Annie L. LaMarr-Forte and Moses LaMarr. Both were remarkable singers/entainers in their time. Annie sang throughout Barbour and Russell Counties in Alabama. Moses sang and acted the role of Frazier in the 1952 world tour of "Porgy and Bess", performed in "Bonditis", "Three's Company", and "Rheingold".
